Hey! We are Carina and Markus!
Welcome to our Travel Blog! Originally planned for half a year, we have been travelling around the world for 3 years now. Since you forget experiences much too quickly and pictures are blurred somewhere on your hard drive, we decided to write a blog where we want to capture all our experiences and impressions. We are so thrilled that we are keen to share our experiences with others and maybe we can get one or two of them to discover our incredibly exciting and beautiful world! We write about our experiences, show impressive photos and videos and give suggestions and tricks for other travellers and world explorers.
Who we are:
We are German, both 28 years old and a couple since 2005. Originally we are from the Allgäu region, but moved to Ulm for our studies. After five and a half years of studies, we both have a master’s degree, Markus in electrical engineering, and Carina as a biologist. What now? We never have been the total travel enthusiasts, our holidays consisted more or less of all-inclusive trips where every day is similar. You know there’s more. You can hear about the land of unlimited possibilities, the red continent, dream islands with deserted beaches, unbelievable underwater worlds and strange and impressive cultures. It was surprising for everyone that we decided to travel the world for half a year. But isn’t now the perfect time? Apartment canceled, car sold, moved back home. In a few weeks it will start! Only the flights are booked, once around the world! As total beginners, we start our adventure! Backpack strapped! Here we go!
Since we’ve been travelling for three years now, you will have noticed that we not only survived our first trip, but were also got the travel bug! We have walked through the most beautiful national parks of the USA, have admired the sunset on a lonely beach in Fiji, have sent a small turtle on a big trip in Indonesia, jumped out of the airplane in New Zealand from 4500m above sea level, survived Australia’s outback, were diving in Mexico with bull sharks and made new friends in every country!
We are entiteld to living on a unique planet and we can only recommend everyone to take the opportunity to see the world – as long as it is possible! It doesn’t have to be a complete world trip;)
How we made it possible for us to travel:
As a student, you don’t usually have a lot of money, so how can you afford to travel? We would call ourselves, as they say, flash packers. We travel with a small budget, but do not try to save every euro at any price. Carina has been saving a lot of money during her studies, Markus has been successfully self-employed for several years. He owns couponing in Germany sites such as GutscheinKroko. de and GutscheinHerz. de. In addition, he works with his company iloca. de as a web designer, software developer and IT administrator for several companies. While Markus is earning money with his company between and during the trips, Carina is already setting up her private travel agency and planning the next trip 🙂
